I am new and have a problem with the tutorials

I just got Anime Studio 5 and I started to work my way throught the tutorials and I ran into a problem. At the end of Tutorial 1.2 it tells me to push File->Render, but there is no render button under file for me, and the gradient will not appear for me (I think because I can't find render). Maybe this will help you see what I'm asking:
Where's Render? Does rendering it make the gradient appear?

It is a mistake in the documentation of the Anime Studio (non PRO).
Render means create an static image to see how looks the current frame applying all the drawing effects (blur radius or full particles for example). It would look like the frame of the movie.
Look
here to get an explanation of the mistake and how to solve it.

Thank you for clearing that up for me Genete. Now I'm going to keep on doing the tutorials and if I run into any more problems I'll check the technical isues page before I ask on here.

Hello, I'm also new here and having a problem with the tutorial. I'm also using Anime Studio 5. I'm at 1.4 Bone Setup. I at the point where I go to File->Import->Anime Studio Object... Then it says "In the file dialog that appears, open the file "Tutorial Extras" that can be found in the "Tutorials/1 - Basics" subfolder within the main Anime Studio folder."
A window opens but there is no Tutoial/1 - Basics subfolder, Unless I just can't find it. All I see is what I've saved.

You should search in the folder where you have installed Anime Studio. Unfortunately (for you) I use linux and the destination folder for me is typically
/home/UserName/AnimeStudioPro. There you'll find a folder called "Tutorials" where you are looking the files.
For other operating systems the destination folder could be different but the structure from AnimeStudioPro (or simply AnimeStudio depending on what version you have) must be the same.
