I am a 2 day old newbie and I was wondering if you can tell me how to turn off or extend the blue colored thing on the timeline which i believe is what causes the loop.
Also just another random question...should I get Anime studio pro now even though I dunno how to use anime studio yet or should i just stick with what I have now until I get used to using it then get pro.

The blue stripe shows the length of your project. You can change it
a) in the project settings
b) by alt-rightclick in the line with the numbers.
cmd-leftclick and cmd-rightclick specify a loop just for playback during work.

go to file - project settings
then write "0" (zero) as final frame.
your animation will be infinite (or close)

You needed a poll for this?

These are good tips for adjusting the length of the timeline and the length of a loop, but no one as yet has suggested how to turn off the loop completely (regardless of timeline length.) Is it possible to do so?

There is no way to turn off looping. You can start and stop the animation by hitting the space bar.

Okay. Thank you, vern.

I think nobody has read selgin's comments... If it there is no end in the animation there is no loop...

I did read selgin's comment and tried setting the final frame to "0" but once I begin animating a layer and creating keyframes a finite timeline is established and when I play it back it begins looping again even though the project setting says "0" as the final frame.
In other words, my animation extends through 24 frames and once it reaches the 24th frame it loops back to frame 1 and continues regardless of project settings. I only got ASP a few days ago so perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I'm on a Mac if that makes a difference.

You're right. Sorry. Maybe that only can be done with Moho. Insert a BIG number in End frame and it would truncate to the maximum allowed value. For AS PRO is 1000000 frames and for AS I thin it is 3000.
