I have trying to do head turns and other action by the Insert Reference on frame one. How do I bring back the head to the front. It turns right but I can’t seem to get it to come back. I tried to make a action that has the key frame of the front but when I insert it, it dose nothing.

assuming you drew the front view in frame 0, when you create a new 'front' action, copy and paste the keyframes from fram 0 to frame 1... this will put information into the timeline when you call upon that action.

I need to get the actions on bone and grope layers back to frame 0, that works only on the nongrouped layers.

i dont really understand what you just said - but always create the actions on the top level layer (i.e. go into and out of actions while on the top most layer) you notice that if you go between sublayers directly, you will automatically come out of actions mode - so always click back to the folder then down to a different sub layer (someone who i dont remember, apologies, created a 'select parent layer' shortcut - this comes in very handy here)

hope this helps.

Funk,

Here is an example.

I can get Mr square head to turn, but how do I bring him back to the same position as frame 0 at say frame 36?

All you have to do is create a center action and drop that in - in the same way you made the others, but just creating keyframes on frame 1 (copies of frame 0)

see file.

Ok I see. I have been changing parameters like rotate y and just adding a key frame on translate point, but does nothing in the action. I have to add a copy of each parameter that I'm using.

Thank you for your help. Now I can get back to animating.

I found that if I add a key frame on the action down just enough frames to display the actions name doesn't affect anything so far. But now I'm not guessing what the action is.

actually thats quite a handy tip! you could have a 2nd frame ONLY on the folder layers action timeline so it doesnt interfere with anything else making the name displayed... i never thought of that :) nice one.
