Re: Vitruvian bones for bodies
Thanks for the excellent advice. Yes, the Switch Layer seems most feasible for my character's body- I can use the same bone structure and not deal with so much re-parenting. Now, to practice Vitruvian bones on my character's limbs...

Vitruvian bones for bodies
I'm about to take the plunge into Vitruvian bone groups. Every tutorial I have seen and read on the subject deals with limbs, but not bodies. The character I am working on has an asymmetrically-shaped body profile while its front is symmetrical. After trying unsuccessfully to do a full-body turn wit...

Never mind
(Sigh) Well, may as well answer my own post. I found that in ASP 7, when editing a drawing within a switch layer, the layer needs to be at the top in the frame to see what I'm doing. Whatever....

6 drawings not showing in 7
I just upgraded from ASP 6 to 7, and I can hardly wait to get to know 7 better. But my drawings that I did in 6 are visible only when I highlight their group or bone layer parents- highlighted on their own, I only see wire-frames. They don't show up at all when I highlight the switch layers. I inspe...

Well, I be damned- originally, I had the file set up for sorting layers by depth. As soon as I unchecked everything in that mode, boom!, the keyframes started to appear! I guess that's what heyvern was driving at. Also, the parent layer of all this was a bone layer inside a switch layer: as soon as ...

I upgraded to 5.6 after I read your post. Shopping for bargains online has never been my strongest attribute, but I'm glad I got it. Since it's almost one in the morning as I post this, I'll try it out later. Hopefully this will be my final post on this subject until a different crisis comes along! ...

Depth sorting issue
I've been following the instructions about layer depth sorting to make a character's hand go from in front of the body to the back. The Z-axis for the layer reads that it is indeed further back than the body, but the playback seems to ignore the settings at the keyframes, and the hand appears either...

Thanks for the info. Two responses: I tried several times to download Quick Time to my computer, but it never shows up when the download is completed. (Perhaps another reason to hate Windows Vista?) I actually fixed the problem myself the next morning. For the two problem files, I just eliminated th...

Got them Exportin' Blues
Hope your eyes don't glaze over on this one: I've successful animated several scenes for a project, but I'm getting variable results in exporting them to .AVI files. Specifically: > A couple will play in Windows Media player, but without the soundtrack, and they don't show up in either WMM or Premie...
