@chucky I don't think I use that window
I think I must have just used too many points... I seem to remember the program always slowing for me when I duplicate items repeatedly

Re: Spinning beach ball with 2012 version and hardware...
Okay, I have tried both suggestions now... hard to gauge as my day's work is finished, but it will be apparent tomorrow. I had been thinking it would be okay to use both screens as the macbook is supposed to have no problem driving multiple monitors, but perhaps it's unfair to look at the Cintiq as ...

Re: Spinning beach ball with 2012 version and hardware...
Yes, the laptop screen is fully closed and not being used by the graphics card - and my colleagues and I use Macbook Pros not merely to animate but also edit film... this machine set up in this manner has no problem with 4k material from the canon 1DC camera.

Re: Spinning beach ball with 2012 version and hardware...
More information:
I am operating the MacBook Pro in 'clamshell mode', i.e. with the screen closed and powered by the mains.
It is attached to a 32" monitor which is not switched on right now and then also attached to a Cintiq 24HD pen tablet....

Re: Spinning beach ball with 2012 version and hardware...
What I am doing is copying the individual item itself and pasting, sometimes on the same layer and other times I am switching to another layer and re-pasting it there....

Re: Spinning beach ball with 2012 version and hardware...
No, it seems to only happen with this piece of software and only today. I copied and pasted the same drawing repeatedly, tweaking each iteration slightly, because I was drawing a long shelve in a warehouse with many boxes on it. In the past, I have found a lot of cutting and pasting can make Anime v...

Spinning beach ball with 2012 version and hardware...
I just bought one of the new Retina Macbook Pro machines - I chose 16GB RAM because that was the most you could get and 750GB SSD and the fastest processor they offered - 2.7 I think. I'm getting a lot of spinnning beach ball when I run Anime Studio 9, despite not running anything else at the time.....

Yeah, that's more or less it. The lead actress voicework was recorded over 3 days. She's a professional and all her material was consistent. The material was recorded with Audacity and the settings did not change throughout. Yet sometimes the switch layer sync tool just doesn't respond. In the case ...

Oh, I know, yes... But I still can't figure out why it's suddenly stopped responding in relation to large swathes of this particular piece of voicework - it's every bit as loud and clear as other pieces of voicework by the same actor. Generally, I use the tool as a first step and supplement with my ...

Thanks folks. I use Audacity in general, slowtiger, so it was easy to see if the normalising thing worked - unfortunately not. Steve, your suggestion is a bit technical for me! The sound file in question, a female actor's dialogue, seems very good quality and not unusual in any way - but I just can'...

Switch Layers, Lip Sync, Audio not loud enough?
Folks, I have been animating with ASP 8 for a while now and finding it great - but recently have been finding that when asking a switch layer to obey an audio file it doesn't generate key frames for many of the spoken words. It generates them only for the louder sentences. I tried amplifying the aud...

brush strokes disappearing during sequence
I've always noticed that when I track in, one or two brushstrokes disappear once they are outside the camera frame, but still visible in the general drawing area. I was never sure why this happened - but assumed that while in the process of previewing a moving scene the software or computer didn't n...

well, the reason creating my own lettering might cause a difference is that it would be the same as creating any other line in my animation - all of which I am happy with it. It's only when I use the text function the density fades a little. Yes, I have adjusted the thickness to get it just the way ...
