Annoying black flashing in point select

Thank you for offering so many suggestions. I just tried the view options ( it's the pop up menu that appears from the Display Options button), but even if I disable all the choices, so the window is actually empty, the flashing still occurs.

Similarly, disabling custom tool cursors makes no difference. I don't think we're going to escape from the conclusion that we have a bug here.

Ahh, i noticed if you unselect LASSO mode, then the screen doesn't flicker anymore, YAY!
The flickering was driving me crazy too

This also seems to fix my problem of clicking a place and having all points selected...that was really irritating.
