Just a correction: Heavy Metal was not rotoscoped (maybe only in some short sequence), it was animated traditionally.

Heavy Metal (1981) was indeed rotoscoped, and very obviously, in about half the sequences (including the Taarna sequence and the taxi driver sequence). Other sequences were not rotoscoped at all (including the Captain Stern sequence and the sequence with the drug-crazed aliens), and there is a world of difference between them.

Den (haman characters) is rotoscoped, as well as Canyon and Taarna ( still hot after all those years).
