Or if you're on Windows and don't mind learning a skosh of programming you could disable the spacebar in AS using AutoHotkey.

Adobe premiere and after effects are kinda used together and in my eyes are more video editing than animation software. You pretty much always have a video in the background in AA and AE. I'd have the same problem with the space bar there but I didn't notice since I only played around with them for a short time.
I'm already trying to avoid it but it still happens and ruins my workflow. I can only hope AS will get better in the upcoming versions by adding better key changing features and other workspace customization.

I'll try to avoid hitting it for now and I've begun to always check the frame I'm on. If that doesn't work out I'll create a workaround.

Maybe AS isn't your cup of tea.

I take it you don't really use AE then? AE is a compositing and animation package. Sure, like ASP, it can sort of be used for video editing but it's not really designed for that. In fact, any actual video editing program, like Vegas, Premiere or Final Cut will run circles around AE for editorial use.

In my personal projects, I use AE mainly for animation, compositing and visual fx. I find it to be a perfect animation companion to ASP and Toon Boom; sometimes I even use AE to let me combine elements for these do, and enhance the result with animation and fx created in AE. For video editing, I use Vegas Pro.

On some productions at my workplace, we even use AE specifically for character animation.

Guess I've missed that part completely when I did the tuts. Just checked it and seen that animation is done with it, but the drawing part is done in other software. So it's pure animation, I kind of was talking about software that does both creation of assets and animation.
