LOL! Vern

It's cool to know you'll be on top of things now. As much as I am into real estate and pharmaceuticals, I prefer to read about animation. :D

Way to go Vern! I think rather than delete your stuff, we need a special archive for it - I certainly learn from and enjoy your posts.

Good to see you on the forum, LM!

Rasheed, it's the old proverb - if you want something done, give it to a busy person. :)

Regards, Myles.

Like shooting fish in a bucket...

Dang things are like mosquitoes. Are you guys posting spam to test me?

I think I nailed like 3 of em split seconds after they showed up. Being very conscientious... I had to click on a couple of them to make sure they weren't legitimate... Brittany really let herself go after having that baby, and I still haven't found any viagra cheap enough for me to try it out.

;)

Congrats? Well, the more the merrier anyway. ;) Without exaggerating I can say I am killing something like 50+ spams per day. I like hanging out here so pop in a lot between homework, and even work assignments.

I have been reporting some of the worse offenders - like the britney spammers- to places I mentioned earlier. Also if they post an email like @yahoo.com @msn.com etc spam generally violates the companies Terms of Service so I tried reporting them there as well. I went wacko on some of the worst offenders and reported them everywhere I could think of. I'm not sure that it is doing any good as there doesn't seem to be any lessening. Probably only solution are those mention earler of stopping them at the registration stage. Until then we'll sic vern on 'em. :)

Then can I suggest Kamagra, the Indian/China produced version ... prices here in Thailand are very good at present (or at least so I am told  ).

And welcome to the spam-busters patrol.

BTW, What time zone are you on - I'm GMT+7.

Your avatar is cool. Is that from a show you did in Thailand?

So do you look like your avatar? I always assume people look like their avatar. This makes me worry for Selgin and Rasheed. ;)

He's nominally called Professor Pringle and he'is from a 3 minute short called Machine Masters - currently we're doing the sound track. Hope to have it finished before Christmas.

If I can persuade my boss, I'll upload either a 3gp mobile version or web-page on the company server (as a 480*270 flash playback). If we go with the current cut, scene 6 will probaly set the record for longest single scene ... only 1 minute 30 long :-) It generated a serious AVI render problem which I only fixed by outputing the scene in 4 parts.

Incidentally, he's on a temp background - the real one is, well ... just a little complex ;-). Hopefully you'll see later.

Done 100 % with AS.

Uh... well technically I am in GMT - 5:00 (Eastern Standard Time), but I don't follow a specific time zone.

I work until I need sleep, sleep, then get up and work. Sometimes I am up during the night and sleep during the day. Sometimes I sleep during the night and work during the day.

I will probably be able to fill in some gaps that might be missing. Can I assume those weird posts that appear to be some sort of bizarre "russian" type language are spam? Those weird characters and stuff. I've seen them vanish in the past so I guess they are spam.

I would hate to be deleting some poor Russian, AS user's questions... of course someone with a user name like "GetMedsCheapXXXX" is probably up to no good.

I actually thought those might be from some advanced extraterrestrial civilization. No doubt they don't speak the language and so they simply repeat what they understand. I am sure they are big fans of Anime Studio, and I expect vern to be abducted soon, ;)

Usually you can tell by the website link. There is a nice facility you can use if you are in doubt. AT the bottom of a thread, on the left hand side, there are 4 buttons: The second on in is the @Move topic@ button. Click that and a groovy little dialogue box pops up and lets you move the topic to "Misc chit chat" for example. Sometimes there are spam messages which are not promoting cheap drugs porn and other forms of dodge entertaiments, but posting on a political topic like the War in Iraq. Whilst they are spam, they can be interesting enough to keep, but in the right area. Before I discovered the button, I just deleted them since they were not relevant to the Discuss Moho section.

You can also edit a post - if someone posted something which contained a valid post but used a very offensive word, then the tools are there to mod the word so its more acceptable. I haven't needed to do that yet. The only time I have done a content edit was to correct a broke weblink, inserting a .com where a ,com had previously been. It saved a string of messages saying the like was broke.

Moving and editing posts is rare, but it can be necessary - I have only moved two messages since being a Mod. If I have to mod a post, I tag it with a message to say - "This message has been moderated", "message moved from ", or words to that effect. That way, the orignal poster cannot complaint that someone changed thier posts anonymously.

Generally though, a moderators job is very clear cut - if its spam, it goes.

The politics and code of conduct is up to eForntier and Mike to resolve (as was demonstrated this week with a highly personnal but strong view of AS's performance).

If I'm really unsure about a borderline post, I leave it. Sometimes another moderator or Admin will know what to do with it.

Rhoel.

off-topic: In England you can buy a luncheon meat called Spam. The mad mischief-maker inside me got the better and I send a can by snail mail to a German programmer friend in Germany. It was later reported that after the postman had dragged him from his bed at some ungodly hour of the morning, his wife was perplexed by laughter coming from the hallway: The can now sits pride of honour on top of his PC at company HQ.

He still has the mahogany toilet seat I gave him the previous Christmas.

He really isn't going to like this years Christmas present either - I just know it.

And I try so hard to please .

Oh you can buy spam here in the states as well. I love that stuff!

When I was much younger I went on this hiking trip in the mountains. We kind of... ran out of water... it was summer and all the streams dried up.

Anyway we managed to find some water and dinner was Ramen noodles with chunks of SPAM...

p.s. I always order the "SPAM SPAM SPAM and SPAM with SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM and SPAM.
