Give her an arch to her back or give her a turtle-neck. Or a simple cheek line from the back of the nose to the edge of the mouth will instantly age her.

Thanks for the suggestions, Uolter and Mikdog! It was helpful to try a variety of things because I was able to narrow down her age a bit. I realized that I was envisioning an "old" mid fifties where she looks older than she is because of her rough and tumble lifestyle. I ended up putting more arch in her back and adjusting the shape of the cheeks and chin. I still have to work on the legs. Also want to make her more distinct and memorable. But having the basic design figured out will make it easier to finish writing the script and story boarding.

Uolter, you must have fixed the manly look because your Granny character turned out great! Very granny-like. lol

Looking good, though I'd make the crow's feet and rings under her eyes touch her eyes and remove the neck and arm vein.

Mikdog--Thanks for those wrinkle ideas. I think the eye wrinkles being connected looks more unified.

Some wrinkle and under-eye-bag possibilities:

I kind of like the more simplified looks. Maybe the top right one.

I agree with you Iwa. Adding too details will make the character style too different. I like the one on the top right too :)

Edit:

Sorry, I didn't see that before, thank you! Yes I worked a lot with her. It's strange because when I was in academy I usually found painting old people quite easy while making them in cartoon style is a mess! :?

Agreed. Just enough to hint, the voice work will sell the rest.
