Moho Skills! Rig And Animate A Tail!

Post by Greenlaw »

This one is extra fun!

Animating tails is one of my favorite things to do in Moho.

Here's Mameneko's description from YouTube...

In this episode, we'll learn how to rig and animate a cat's tail (like mine!) Once you master this skill, you can use it to animate wiggly, swingy, whippy things like rope, chains, and hair.

If you enjoy our tutorials and find them helpful, become a supporter at our Ko-fi page! While you’re there, read D.R.'s blog and check out the gallery for more fun stuff!

This episode was funded with support from Keith and Toon Lyrics! Thank you so very much, guys!

Catsketball! Moho Physics, Part 1!

Post by Greenlaw »

Bouncing into this week is 'Moho Physics For Dummies'...by a physics dummy! :D

Enjoy!

Here's Mameneko's description from YouTube...

Nope! This is NOT just another bouncing ball animation tutorial. In this episode, learn how to use Moho Physics! Then, learn how to add a squash and stretch effect to your animation!

Here's the link for the FREE Moho Pro project files...

https://ko-fi.com/s/2b9a7805d1

This is a .zip file containing...
  • A completed 'Bouncy' activity
  • A variation of the 'Bouncy' activity
  • A BONUS 'Catsketball' project file...with notes by D.R.
  • A clean (no keyframes) version of 'Catsketball' to play with.
Have fun, and please leave a tip on our Ko-fi page if you can! Your contribution will help fund these videos, and we really appreciate it!

Love,
Mame-chan

Moho Tip! Select Child Bones!

Post by Greenlaw »

In this episode, I show how I use **MR Select Child Bones** when working with long tails and other bone chains that are otherwise difficult to select during animation. After assigning Shift+C as a shortcut, it makes a nice companion to the Shift+S and and Shift+B workflow I described in the earlier tutorial.

Special thanks to Mult Rush for creating MR Select Child Bones and other useful tools, and sharing them with the Moho Community!

Peace out,

In this episode, D.R. shows how he uses MR Select Child Bones and Shift-C to select and edit tails and other bone chains in a rig. Shift-C is the perfect companion to the Shift-S and Shift-B shortcuts he demonstrated in the tutorial episode Switch Layer Tips! Part 2:

Octopuss! Moho Animation Project...$3!

Post by Greenlaw »

It's a new record! I posted two videos to the channel this week...although this one technically isn't a tutorial or a cartoon short...

Octopuss! began as a simple example for last Monday's Select Child Bones tutorial, but in setting up the project in Moho, it kinda grew into a complete animated scene.

Somehow, my 'simple' test projects tend to blow up like that. For example, Space Tommy: Mission Critical started out as a basic Moho Physics example I created for another forum member, and somehow it transformed into 'The Quest for Space-Coffee'.

Anyway, when you purchase Octopuss!, it comes with an Artist's Notes document that briefly explains the setup and what else is going on in the project. This document is not meant to be a full tutorial but I think many Moho users will find the descriptions interesting. Later this year, I may create a proper 'walkthrough' video to describe the setup in further detail.

Just trying out something different with this one. Our channel's has received so much love from other Moho users and animation fans, and I really enjoy creating these shorts and tutorials for everyone, but Alisa and I have been working on the Little Green Dog Channel for a year now and it needs to start pulling in an income this year to be sustainable. I think this is a good start...since yesterday, more new Supporters joined the team through the Ko-fi page and we soled a few Octopuss! projects!

My heartfelt thanks, everyone who visited our Ko-fi page and made a contribution or purchase. Watch for more Moho-related stuff coming to our Ko-fi Shop and exclusively for Team Little Green Dog Supporters soon!

Speaking of something different: I'll continue making tutorials as I can, but we're going to experiment with other programming this year, including a chatty show about Alisa and my experiences working in the art and animation industry.

Let me know what you think!

Let's Vector Draw In Moho! Part 2

Post by Greenlaw »

Yay, it's here! Yeah, I know...FINALLY.

This episode features a fun experimental use of a mostly automated character. I thought about how to make it work all week, but literally threw it together in the wee hours of last night/this morning. I was uncertain this was going to work, but the result made me laugh, so I consider it a success and think it was totally worth it! (That or I'm just super giddy from lack of sleep.)

Enjoy!
