Serial number problem

Odd.

I ordered Anime Studio Pro at Amazon.co.uk, got it today -- but it keeps rejecting my serial number. I understand, looking around here and there on the Net, that there are no O's in the number, just 0's, but whatever I try, nothing seems to work: "You have not entered a valid serial number."

Did any of you have this same problem? I've contacted CP and EF but haven't heard anything so far -- could be they'll reply in a few days, still I wanted to know if it's a common thing.

Make sure you are using the registration code and not the order confirmation number or something like that. I made that mistake.

Make sure you type in the hyphens (or not... if you did).

Other than that I can't think of why it wouldn't work.

I think I have the right number: "Serial Number" it says on the disc's package. Starts with "ZS".

I tried it without hyphens as well.

Hi...

Maybe it is also a misinterpretation of some numbers?
An O and a 0 could be a problem.
(Ohh + 0 = Zero)
And don't forget this sign here: -
I always type it in.

My both serials starts with a ZP (Mac + Win) coincidence maybe...
Worth a try.

Good luck.

Nothing.

This is really frustrating. What gives?

My license has only letters, no numbers but it is for MOHO 5.4.

I've just tried it on a PC -- and same thing, it rejects the number. So it's not my computer.

Can you not call either eFrontier or Smith Micro?

I'd definitely invest in a phone call -- this is a situation I wouldn't wait to be resolved electronically.

I've had exactly the same problem. if I coant solve it I will call them again tommorow. It's frustrating having to jump from one computer to another simply to do work.

Yeah, but I'd have to do it in English (I'm Dutch) which always is a hurdle for me.

And there's no need anymore: I got a reply back from eF today, and it's solved: turns out I had the Pro version, but a Standard serial number. Slight mix-up at the factory, probably. So I'll get a new number, and that'll be that.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
(Sorry I don't know how to write it in Dutch)

Bah, I hate this kind of stupid mistakes, it costs a lot of nerves, sweat and tears.

Here, a "feel better link",
it's not Anime Studio, it's Flash and just freshly found in the web.
I think it's funny.

That would be "Van harte gefeliciteerd!".

I'm glad I have a serial number. And I treasure it, because I read some people had so much problems with it in the early days, upgrading from Moho to Anime Studio.

Now I have similar reservations regarding upgrading to 5.6. Will it be a smooth upgrade, or not? That is the big Q. I hope I can simply keep using the same serial number, even though Smith-Micro is the new vendor.

It sounds like your serial number should be valid, in that it starts with ZS. I had a "worse" problem in that my packaging came with the serial number sticker for an entirely different product. I tried submitting the problem on the e-frontier online customer service form, but didn't get a prompt response. So I did the same on the Smith Micro portion of the site, and I got a response that said e-frontier still does the support for this product, and I got a phone number. With the phone number, I was able to call and quickly got a proper serial number. I'd suggest doing that. Have them spell each letter out so there are no mistakes - for example "A as in apple".
