Impending Flash CS4

Hey all -

I haven't seen much other than the two vids (found over and over on the net - including here: http://aeportal.blogspot.com/2008/03/fl ... cards.html )

But I guess I just wanted to ask if everyone is bracing themselves for the flood of IK animation that's gonna hit the net after Sept 24th?

I think ASP still is my program of choice with all the camera controls and layout, but, man - it's time to get my game face on or something, because the playing field is going to have a lot more people on it.

It kinda reminds me of the introduction of the World of Warcraft Model Viewer into the WoW Machinima arena - there's this deluge of machinima.

So, I guess I'm not here to argue if it's gonna be a good thing or a bad thing - because we're gonna hafta deal with it either way - but I am looking forward to all I can learn from the forthcoming craziness!

I still have my doubts that anyone's going to top AS on 2D IK anytime soon.

Is IK a genre now?

Here's an example I found of the CS4 IK. It looks pretty good so far, but much of it's utility will rely on implementation of things like constraints. I really doubt they go all out with translation, rotation, and scaling constraints right out of the gate, unless of course they were smart enough to use Anime Studio as a template for 2D IK.

I don't worry about more people being able to create ASP-like 2D IK. The software is only a tool for the true creativity.

Isn't that an old C64 game? International Karate?
