SW,

I don't quite follow what you are trying to do - are you trying to incorporate a green screen shot or just output to another composite program?

If its just outputting with a green screen, why not just use the alpha.

If its a removal of green screen, more difficult, as most screens are not "flat colour". There is a way of using the Layer Blending mode option but I have to check the combination.

SW, I tried several combination of the Layer Blend but to no avail - I can kill the green screen but the background is a new colour, not transparent.

The only program I have which can do this is Combustion, which isn't cheap.

The alternative is to do the composite in an edit suite - many have some green screen support.

Many stop motion frame grabber programs have green screen removal features built in. Try Helium Frog -- it's free!

AS can't remove the green or any other colour because it uses images and videos as a closed container, not looking inside the pixel values. The only thing it recognizes is an alpha channel. So you need to create that alpha channel in other software prior to import video into AS.

A recommended codec to use for importing video with alpha is "PNG, millions+ colours".
