hello to every anime studio users,
first of all, sorry for my english. I´ m new on this forum but I´ m a confirmed user of anime studio since it was moho 4.
Hereś my question: does a script or a method exist to make a character handling an object with his two hands, like in 3D max for example? Thanks for your answers.

This script might work for you

viewtopic.php?t=18787

Although it might be more than you need. It basically the script adds an "aim at" type of feature for bones. You could then use this to have both hands "locked" onto a single object or bone.

Thanks a lot Heyvern, but I think I will need a little more explanations. I´ ll check this script tomorrow but, even after viewing Gilles Charbonneau´ s tutorial, I´ m not sure to really understand how to use it in my case (how correctly naming the bones, which bone attached to the other, etc). By the way, am I the first user to be confronted to the problem? Does anybody has already post a tutorial for this kind of request?

If I need to do this I use a switch layer. Use separate layers for both hands until they are touching, then flip to a drawing of both hands clasped together. Don't get stuck on thinking up 3D ways of doing things, it's 2D software with one or two 3D tricks, not kosher 3D.

In cases I need to have 2 limbs firmly attached to an object, like 2 feet on a bike's pedals, or 2 hands holding something, I simply have a second character (or just a second set of limbs, depending on setup) where I inverse the bone chain hierarchy. In your case this would be shoulder - arm - hand - object - other hand - arm, because t's much easier to adjust this chain at the shoulder. Or it could be body - object - arms.

Thanks Solwtiger for the tips but it´ s already the method I use. I don´t want anime studio to become a 3D software, but, as it uses a bone system like in most 3D softwares, I think, it could be very helpful to have some of the solutions these softwares offer. I´ m a little bit fed up with having to develop tricky ways to obtain simples things like a good bone olocking for example. I won´t criticize more AS, it´ s a very good software, the best for cut out animation.

Hi, I made a video tutorial showing how to use the FKIK script to make it. I tried to show some of the advantages of this fantastic script too:
