Capricious round cap?

Is it just me or round cap is extremely capricious?
Disabling it only works in some context, if at all. Before I go on describing each case, perhaps you can tell me if you already know of that bug?

is it "just" a viewport error (i.e. does it render properly)?

I don't think disabling the Round Caps button has worked for some time.
Yeah, I just checked 12.4, the oldest Moho I have installed, and it's not working there either, display or render. Tried with primitive Square, Triangle, and Star.
Update #1: Oh, wait...I'm looking at corners, not end caps. Duh. Sorry, I keep forgetting, actual sharp corners isn't a Moho thing, it always rounds corners. Checking end caps now.
Update #2: Ok, I'm back. Disabling Round Caps seems to be working here, but I'll keep an eye on this to be sure it sticks.
Update #3: I do see a weirdness in the flattened end caps for really wide strokes though. Odd little spike jutting from the edge. Will take a closer look at this later. Of course, when the stroke gets as fat as I have it here, I'll typically trace around it instead.

Here's a test on my end. This is a render cause you're right, in viewport it's a hit or miss, but most often rounded whether the checkbox is ticked or not.
On this render it's flat, except for the lower right corner of that rectangle.
I really wish they fixed that in a future release. Vector tools are pretty good in Moho otherwise, it would become my go-to vector software if it wasn't for this.
And also impossible to get sharp corners
