you can use a bone layer... it has the same masking functions as a group layer...

Masking only in the pro version? That sucks. I don't think so, though...
Make a group layer, put your layers inside the group layer, double-click the group layer, go to MASKING, select HIDE ALL.
Double-click one of your layers INSIDE the group layer. Go to MASKING. Select ADD TO MASK.
The other layer should have MASK THIS LAYER selected.
Now, I'm not quite sure which layer has what setting. Also, it makes a difference of the layer ordering, what layer's above what layer.
Best advice: Read and follow the tutorial about masking. It will answer your questions.

GROUP layers are only in the pro version... thats why i suggest using a bone layer.
Use masking to crop an image?

Could someone kindly post some step-by-step instructions for using a mask to crop an image, in Anime Studio Pro?
I've tried following the tutorial, and something's wrong. I'm confused. All I want to do is crop an image's borders so that it fits within a certain area, but I want to use masks so I can adjust it all inside Anime Studio Pro.

Thanks. I did, else I wouldn't have bothered you. I did not find this in my searches. I tried more than one search, even. Sometimes it takes a veteran user to know what to search for, exactly, or what thread might have an answer.
