Re: newbie bone layer question
Hello, I don't think this is a silly question, because I have to think about it every time, I start a new setup for a character. Basically it depends on what you want to do and how you want to work. And normally you can't put everything for a character on one layer (for example: different head turns...

Re: "Import by reference" breaks character's reference layer
Got some time to do some testing with the referencing. It seems like the file referencing is always overwriting the layer referencing, what is sort of confirming the title of this discussion. This is true, if you import by reference with layer referencing inside the imported file, but also, if you t...

Re: Broken Layer references Cure
I have been using references for a short film with well over 100 scenes and it has worked fine. If there is a problem with a specific function, then you might need a temporary workaround , but no doubt it will be found and fixed. If it being used on a series then I'm sure (just guessing) any bug yo...

Re: "Import by reference" breaks character's reference layer
I would give it a try in a controlled experiment and see if it works for you. It's been quite a while since the comments were posted above (last February) and ASP/Moho has seen a lot of improvements since then. I will definitively give it a try next week again, but from the posts on this thread the...

Re: "Import by reference" breaks character's reference layer
Just saw this thread, searching for another issue with reference layers. I must say, this is a very big drawback of functionality. In our company, the ability to update rigs over the time of production (normally months or years) is very important (mostly in 3D, but our Anime Studio projects would be...

Re: Broken Layer references Cure
I just examined a number of my character scenes and noticed that the layer references were all broken,[...] Does anybody know, if this is (still) a general issue? I'm testing the possibility to switch from Anime Studio 8 to Anime Studio 12 (Moho again) for the second season of a big TV series. Marc...

Nice. I will give it a try. Thanks a lot.dkwroot wrote:Jimmy, use my smart bone parent control script instead of the one you're currently using. I know exactly the problem you're facing and it's the reason I created another master bone controller.

Re: Set layer transforms to zero?
Hello, I'm sorry, there was no time to answer over the last couple of days. Great ideas Heyvern. Thanks a lot. You need to, select all the points, get the position of that point group, then add or subtract the layer translation value to that point group position. Doing this would put the points in t...

Re: Set layer transforms to zero?
hello hayasidist, thanks for the reply. not totally clear to me what you want... you can zeroise a layer translation, scale, rotation etc using the layer tools, so I guess this isn't what you want. Yes. I could just reset the layer values, so it's zero again. That's not what I want. All child-layers...

Set layer transforms to zero?
Is it possible to set all the transforms of a layer to zero, without changing the position of the layer? So to say, zero out the transformation values. This would be very helpful. For example: If you want to combine two different rigs together under one bone layer and use bone parent master script, ...

Follow path breaks
Hello, maybe somebody knows this issue. I bound some shape to a path with the follow path tool. It's a rope, so it should match the path. Now I encounter the problem, that the follow path breaks if I import the rope to another file and it also breaks, if I undo an animation step with this rope. Does...

Request: Child to Parent Bone Constraints
Hello everyone! Does anyone know a scripting solution for bone constraints from a child bone layer connecting to a parent bone layer? I know there was or is some solution with a master-slave-bone system, but constraints would be more useful for me. Maybe someone can build something like this? Thanks...

Re: ASP still needs a Mirror Bones tool!
Wow. The trouble is this SHOULD BE in the translate AND add bone tools as a check box or modifier key and/or a pixel distance. Translate Bone... drag SNAP! Add Bone... drag SNAP! This is way too late to get it into v9 but should be an option for future versions or updates (as well as flipping bones...

Re: ASP still needs a Mirror Bones tool!
This is just great. Can't wait to try it.
@Vern: Do you plan to bring some more of your old scripts back to life? Don't want to be rude, but there some very interesting scripts, that don't work with ASP 8.
Keep on with the great stuff.

Re: ASP still needs a Mirror Bones tool!
I agree. This would be very nice. There is this "Copy and Flip Bones menu script and Rename Bones menu script" from the Heyvern's scripts and tools ( http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7842 ), but it's not working anymore. Maybe HeyVern himself could reanimate this sc...
