Putting a character in front of *and* behind a prop
Hi again! I'm back at it with my "live performance" animated music video. My character needs a lot of tweaking but the basic rig is more or less done, and now I want it to be able to stand behind the microphone, while also being able to place its hands "on top" of it, layer wise....

Re: Layers/shape not responsive to auto binding any more
You can't believe what a relief this is. I've been tearing my hair all day. And yeah, I had gotten pretty far before, but noticed that changing things about the assets as I went along caused a lot of problems. I thought deleting the bones/bone layer would reset all the binding related stuff with it....

Layers/shape not responsive to auto binding any more
I decided to create a new topic for this. Two of my layers have straight up stopped being susceptible to automatic flexi binding, and I have no idea why. The anme file is up on my onedrive here: http://1drv.ms/1EUcYFe If somebody could take a look it would be hugely appreciated. I'm stumped and losi...

Re: Layer, shape, group coordinates - My brain hurts.
You need to plan ahead because you can't animate the origin point. How do I make sure that things are in order? What tools can I use without messing this stuff up? Do I always need to use the Transform Points tool rather than move layer groups and layers when creating characters? Hope this helps. G...

Re: Layer, shape, group coordinates - My brain hurts.
I'm almost done building the character all assembled, and I'll start putting in new bones soon. The coordinate problem went away when I redid all the copy/flipping with no skeleton, so that was likely what caused my problem before. Quick question. When I want to move elements contained within a laye...

Re: Layer, shape, group coordinates - My brain hurts.
Thank you all so much! It's such a relief to have a compass in all of this. If you're using version 10, I suggest taking a look at the Pirate Girl rig and picking it apart for reference. Most of the rig is pretty straight forward, but you'll want to un-hide all the bones to see how some of the more ...

Re: Layer, shape, group coordinates - My brain hurts.
Hi! Thanks! And thanks for the reply! Yeah it's a bit of an erratic post on the subject. There are so many variables in play - so many concepts working in tandem, it's hard to know how to start untangling it. Especially at 3 in the morning! :D But okay, coffee powered explanation time. the bit that ...

Re: Layer, shape, group coordinates - My brain hurts.
Anndddd I just noticed that the arm I copied, moved away and flipped horizontally still has the same coordinates as the other arm. That's my brain turned to jelly.
Explains why the bones were *mega confused*. Explains nothing to me, though! Oh boy.

Layer, shape, group coordinates - My brain hurts.
Hi there! Short time lurker, first time caller! I'm very new to Anime Studio, and I've gone through the tutorials and have a fairly basic grip on what is going on. For my first project I'm making a little "music video" with a lady singing and... swaying back and forth a little. It's extrem...
