Audio volume trouble

Post by sbtamu »

I do not know if this is a bug or am I doing this wrong.

Could some one explain to me if this is how it is supposed to work?

I have a few audio files at the same volume but I want to turn down some for background forest noises but for some reason ASP 7 adds shadow to the audio file that I can not delete. It seems that the only way I can turn down the volume is if I import the file at frame 0 then move the volume down then move it in the time line to where I want it.

The problem is if I decide to change the volume later I can not because I can not delete the key frames generated.

I tried this in AS6 and it does not do this.

Thanks

Stephen

I don't think you're doing something wrong...I never had this problem with mine.

Update.

If I import an audio file somewhere other than frame 0 then click on the layer 2x and lower the audio I get the bug but if I lower the volume from the sequencer the bug does not happen.

Will a few please test this to make sure I am not just seeing things that are not really there?

I get the bug on both 7 and 7.1 but not 6.2

Thanks

Stephen

LOL no1 tested to see if its a bug yet?

I don't know if I should post this on the bug thread yet until I get others to confirm it.

Meh oh well. Just make sure when you mess with the volume of an audio in AS7 that you do it within the sequencer and not the layer. That is if you import the audio at somewhere other than 0.

hmmm. When you import an audio at lets say frame 24 then double click the layer and lower the volume you do not get layer shading key frames on the time line in AS7?

I just tested it and it works fine for me too.

This might be a stupid question, but I noticed in your screenshots that you were in frame 0 when modifying the volume, which would be overwritten by the volume keyframe at frame 23 - have you tried moving down to frame 23 to edit the volume?

No...I'm working these days on a project and imported some audio (all of them at different frames) but everything worked fine. The last project I did a month ago the same.

Lets try this.

Open up a new project. Go to frame 24. Import a wav audio file. Now double click on the audio layer and go to the audio tab and lower the volume down some. In AS7 I am getting all finds of weird key frames.

If I lower the volume via sequencer I do not get the weird key frames, it only happens when I use the layer settings to lower the volume at somewhere other than 0 in the time line.

ATM I'm rendering a Xmas cartoon of the grand kids and when that's done I'll post a video of what its doing.

Yes...here it is! Same as you...seems related to wav files because with mp3 everything works fine.

Sorry, I have hadn't the need to use super in very long, so I can't give you a good juice about new version. Anyway, super has always been very robust, not too beauty, but robust. So my bet is that there shouldn't be any problem with new version.
