Question 2... should I try to get a different version, I really want to stick with something that works, I'm already starting to run into some bugs with white lines, etc...

I kept reading the questions everywhere about bugs and alot have mentioned that v5.6 is good and bug-free.

Pretty much all I need is:
- Bones
- Masking
- Switches
- Same drawing capabilities as ASP7
- For rendering, I decided based on all the reading I've done on the forum to always output everything as PNG sequenses.

Are there camera changes in ASP7 vs 5.6 that I need to know about?

For what you say Ian7 i think you dont really need to upgrade to 7 but i would suggest you to do it at least at 6, it has some nice features that 5 hasnt.
Also there are a lot of users here that share thier .anme files, with which you can learn a lot by studying them but most of them are in v6, you wouldnt like to miss them :) .

I agree with Parker. Personally, I love and squeezed AS7 new features, but can understand someone could find ok version 6.
Version 5 is very old, interface is uglier and principally it hasn't Blend Morph. through the years there have been a lot of little changes which can't count as new features, but they really make feel better the work in AS.

Personally, I have no problems with AS7.1. I import and export a variety of formats and everything works just fine. So based in my own experience, AS7 is the best choice.

Thank you guys I will get v6 then and stick with it til something changes.

- I'm looking now but if you know a place to buy it for download, I'd appreciate the info

- And, are there different updates, like 6.1 6.2, etc? Would those be easy to get a hold off after buying the 6.0?

I think you just buy 6.0 and then go to their web site and upgrade to 6.2.

Upgrading to 6.2 from 6.0 is free.
Sorry for bad animation

Ok, got 6.2 but understandably the v7 file wont open, I tried to edit the header of the file in notepad to look like a 6.2 file but it didnt work. Do I have to remake the character in 6.2 or is there a different way to open that file in 6.2?

Ok, I found the answer, it's No.

You can not open a v7 file in ASP6, well, let me rephrase that, you might be able to if you are the god programmer and if the file is really small and if you knew what to edit. Too many lines have to be taken out that relate to the new functionality, like physics and 3d and follow_something lines. And I didnt even go through the rest of it to find what else is missing. I could've recreated the character in that time but at least I now know.
