You can't make morph in AS, if this is very necessary, you should try with a morph software (however, you won't get a very good effect always).

Anyway, you can animate images to simulate a morph. It requires some knowledge of animation principles. Generally, animations have no smooth long transitions between one pose/gesture to other, the trick is to make your audience feel there is a smooth transition. Good anticipations and remember that all the body is acting helps a lot.

PD: check this example. This is basically two images of the head simulating a guy sleeping. One with the mouth closed and other with the mouth opened. This is a very basic switch transition, but I animated all to make it feel smooth.

Slowly change the opacity of one layer to to 0 as you make another layer from 0 to 100.

To do this you have to trigger a key frame. Ya I know it a pain in the ass but if you have older versions below 6 there was a nice dialog box that you could click on. Some (curse word) decided that its a great feature to hid all inactive layers. So under layers settings change it to allow animated layer effects. Force the layer to show up on the time line by changing a value so the opacity shows up. You can't have 0 on frame one and 0 on frame 40 where you want the opacity to start to increase, put in a one in the setting then once you get the layer on the time line you can change it to 0 then if you want the 100% at frame 50 run the slider to 50 and change it's opacity to 100.

If this doesn't make sense, find a copy of 5.6, their is a dialog box in right corner. Activate the opacity, add blank keys then change the setting for each png from 0 to 100 and 100 to 0.
