Can I create an action from the timeline?

Is there any way to take an animation I've already created on the timeline and then turn that into an action? Copying and pasting doesn't seem to work.

You can also "copy" key frames from the regular time line into an action this way. So if you have a cool set of key frames that you animated in the main time line and decide later you want them to "reuse" in an action you create an action and right click the "Mainline" in the actions palette and select insert.

I forget who taught me that trick... it might have been you Genete... can't remember. Some one here did.
