audio problems: fragmented souding

Hi,
I would like to have a solution for my audio problem:
I have imported a wav file to pro 7 from the library of audios, but the voice is more more deeper, long-drawn out, have higher voice or fragmented souding as the original when I watch it with AS or render it. I wouldn't like to sync it or do with it other else, the will be only the background voice. Can I do this in AS, or I must to use other video editor programes? Thanks for your help!

Sounds very much like wrong sample rate. Open in audio program to check.

All sound work/editing should be done in the video editor later.
