I'll have a Style selected and then create a shape that comes out a different color. (Ex. a green Style is selected and a yellow shape is created)
I try resetting tools, reset the Style window, and then reselect the Style and it still happens.
It usually corrects itself if I close and restart the program so it's not the end of the world, just wondering if I have something turned on that shouldn't be or if maybe it's a Bug you guys have encountered before.... and I could use the attention.
....Did you know.... that if you search 'style color bug' in the Bugs Forum you get 360 "matches" that don't talk about style color bugs? Then you have to post a new topic to harass the longtime AS users. Which is cool 'cause usually some guy from Austrailia will tell you what you did wrong then give you a cookie, pat you on the head and send you on your way. Austrailia is awesome.
Color Bug in Styles?

I just reopened it and it usually stops acting up when the program is closed then reopened. So I guess it's more of a quirk than a bug? It usually happens every couple of days though. I'll upload it when it does it next time.
Like I said it's really not that big of a deal. I panicked the first couple of times it happened 'cause I didn't know what to do (and I didn't know about this forum). I moronically deleted a couple of hours of work because I didn't want to overwrite a file with whatever the problem was.
Now when it does it I just save it as a backup then close AS, reopen, viola.... problem solved.

Hey jonbo,
here it is, of course it's not doing it right now but the screwy rectangle andthe black ovals outside of the render window were actually created with the salmon colored "Bed Frame" Style.
It's wierd.... er....weird .... it's strange. It does it every day for a while. Then I close AS, reopen and it's fine.
It's the Elf Bedroom Backup file

that is strange. my first guess is the file is corrupted. what's odd is there are shapes with no names or number for them ( the books, self, your black ovals) but styles assigned to some. I've seen this once before and file corruption was the problem. BTW, I was checking this in AS8 and from your comments you're using an earlier version. this also makes me think you got a bad spot in the file. you could try deleting all the styles then re-make and re-assign the styles. or try making a brand new file and play around awhile with the styles in that to see if it does it there. if it don't then you know.
Thanks for checking it out jonbo, I'll try that. I'm using AS7 and this is probably the 5th or 6th file that's done it.
Another thing I noticed is that when you select each of the shapes they say that they are linked to the "Bed Frame" Style in the 'Style 1' window. Also, none of the shapes can be updated by changing the master Style.
P.S. So far, is AS8 worth the $99 upgrade?
