HI still trying to find my way round the programme and struggling a bit.
Have been through manual but can't find answer so hoping some one here will be able to help.
I've been trying to export a walk cycle to quicktime file. Just to get the hang of this task.
I download character from character wizard, set frame at zero move to frame 96 for eg - use translate layer tool to move character to other side of screen and add action walk. Using instruction in manual. I play this back in anime studio and the character walks across the screen, as planned.
I then try to export the movie and the character does not move at all when the quicktime file is played back.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance to anyone patient enough to try and answer I am a nurse and a hobby animator not a pro and I am doing my best to teach myself.

What format are you exporting it in, avi, quicktime or flash ?
When you see your end result movie, do you get all the frames playing without the walk, or is the animation stopping short?
In your quicktime export, what compression type are you setting ?

Questions Questions Questions......I know ! lol

Hi arwenc. First of all, GREAT avatar! I watched for a while , just couldn't take my eyes off it. I too am a newbie at animation but have learned alot here. Try this: quicktime/png compression/ millions of colors codec. This works for me. Or use a file sharing site like mediafire and upload the anime file so we can try it on our end. Mediafire is free and allows uploads of up to 200mb. IT sometimes hard to find the exact problem until you can see it.

Are you sure you are in mainline and not inside the action?

Thanks all for the replies - Selgin's comment made me double check the action toolbar and I found the problem - I was in mainline but - for some reason when the character was at frame zero the insert reference /copy button wasn't active, so clicking on it hadn't done anything.
I tried moving the charcter forward to frame six and suddenly the insert button became active. I slid the figure back to frame zero and the button remained active so I was able to click on it and the action was inserted this time.
I don't know if that's a little bug or not but anyway glad to have found the solution.
Thanks a lot for replying good to have support
