How to animate switching on and off layers?

Hi everyone!!

I am teaching myself Anime Studio Pro 8, and I was wondering if there is a way to animate turning layers off? Or is the only way to do that is with using switch layers?

For example : If i had a character, and suddenly they vanished into thin air.. How do I animate that on the timeline? What actual technique is there to make a character suddenly disappear?

I apologise if this is a dumb question...

If you double click on a layer in the layer palette, you will open the layer settings menu. You can then un-check the visibility option to hide that layer. You can do this anywhere in the time line. There is a manual in the help drop down menu that has a lot of the basics listed.
