Problem with shadows...

Post by satanictesticles »

Hi,

I have a basic animation of a character walking towards the right side of the screen.

I have used the shadow script to create a shadow for him. Obviously the shadow moves with the character, but the shadow is on the wrong side.

When I flip the shadow, the character walks to the right but the shadow walks to the left.

I think I am simply having a brain-dead day (i found a jug of water in the cupboard - isn't that meant to go in the fridge?? ), but how do I fix this and make the shadow reversed but make it walk the same way as the character?

Just tried this on a very simple example, I may be missing something for more complex setups:

Delete the shadow group and run the script again.

On frame 0, go into the shadow group and select the Shadow Mask layer inside it.
If you can't see the shadow turn on an onion skin for frame 1.
Use the Shear Layer X tool to move the shadow around the other side.

Let us know if that solved your problem or not.

Regards, Myles.
