Transition-like effect? PLEASE HELP!!

*IF NEEDED, SOFTWARE INFORMATION BELOW!*
I made two animations. I then exported both of them into their two separate video files. I then created a new Anime Studio file and within it I imported the two video files.

I want to use a tool to make a transition-like effect between the videos.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do to make a "transition"?

I am on a Windows 7 PC. I'm using Anime Studio Pro 8. (NOT the trial version.)

overlay them physically on the canvas covering eachother, and leave an overlap in the timeline where you will transition the top video, then just animate the layer transparency from 100% to 0% over that time

NB: you won't see the effect until you render the video
