Hi, again I am new to bones, and the big problem I am currently having is large areas of my figure's body moving when they are not supposed to, like if I move her arm, her whole body twists. So I'm wondering if there is a way to block movement on sections of a cartoon or something similar. Also, if I want to pin a joint in a certain place and wave the rest of the limb, like an arm, how to get the shoulder to stay while the arm waves? I'm unclear on this.
Thanks!

Thanks, so now I've bound the separate parts to the bones using different layers, and all is well, except that for unknown reasons, the wrist is not fully attached to the arm, and so the arm moves from the middle, the hand stays. Not sure why. Is there a way to say "Connect" since it didn't seem to stay when I laid the bones originally? I did it correctly, beginning on the inside and laying the bones outward down the arm.
I don't have the app right in front of me, so I can't give you specifics... But in the bones tool palette in the left, there should be a button or a tool icon for parenting a bone. You'll want to re-parent your hand to the forearm. At least that's what I think it is based on your description. If I'm mistaken, perhaps a screenshot showing what you're describing?

Read manual, covers your question.
NEW USERS, do the tutorials in the manual. AS dose not work the same as most other 'Art or Animation' programs. Knowing them will not help you but hinder you if you think that I know how to do something in another program so I know how it done is in AS. Sorry but it is not that way.

^^ what he said.
there's only 3 sure things in life: death, taxes, and a constant flow of new AS users asking the same questions every week.
Please RTFM and SEARCH THE FORUM, do your own research - all the information is here... lazilly starting yet another thread about the same subject will only continue to waste everybodies time.

edit: sorry, I just read this back and realise it sounded harsher than intended
