Add point / Sharp Corners

Post by satanictesticles »

This has been giving me hell for a long time.... when trying to draw a new shape I don't want the edges to be rounded so I tick the "sharp corners" box.

When I draw the shape, it still automatically curves all the other edges. I have tried deleting the layer & starting a new one, I've exited the program and come back into it to make sure this wasn't just a once-off thing but it keeps happening.

Is this a bug or am I just retarded?

The "sharp corners box" behaves something special. Draw your figure, select the points you like to be sharpened and a click onto the box will sharpen them.

Undocumented feature; press "P" (Peak) during the drawing and now you can draw with sharp corners. Redraw does become slower but it works. Even Lost Marble didn't know about this until someone mentioned it in the forum (can't remember who it was  ).

Glad to assist, and thanks to the person that first mentioned it of course! Suggestion for LM, if it's not too difficult to implement a fixed "peaked" mode would be great, and with a faster redraw.

It's not exactly undocumented - the P key is listed as the shortcut key for the Peak tool. Just like M for Smooth, or A for Add Point.

To select yes, to use while drawing no. M for smooth? Sounds logical :?

sMooth

S was already taken for Scale, but sMooth seemed like it deserved a shortcut as well...
