3D Earth

Does anyone have a link for a tutorial on how to make a 3D Earth? Is there a practical way to create it using only Anime Studio and Photoshop?

I'm on the verge of buying it if I find a cheap one...

Here is one that uses the example selgin posted. I added some atmosphere also. Nothing but an image of the earth and AS are used.

Thank you, selgin and sbtamu. It worked.

Hayasidist, your Earth is really good, but way too complicate to assemble.

I was able to do it using Selgin's, way but the poles really end up squeezed. I'm trying to fix it by distorting the original world map PNG, but still haven't found the right balance. If I come up with a good way to do it, I'll get back to you.

Really neat trick Selgin, who would have thought you could put a texture on a vector like that? Brilliant.
Makes for a great Sky dome too.

Whoah in fact you just gave me the answer to a solution I was looking for for something entirely different, gonna see what happens with other shapes.
