Anim 8 runs very slow

Hi Guys

Have looked around the forum cant find anything on this.

I have created a background of a sea at night scene with stars, wave ripples (not animated) an ice burg, and ship.

It seems the more items added the slower anim pro 8 goes. and I have not got to animating yet. When I unchecked the eye box in the layer the image disappears but the green drawing points remain. its a bit like being a huge size file and my computers running low on memory.

So far I have cleaned up the computer files and reg etc and removed unwanted programmes leaving 3gb of space. all other programmes run OK. And reinstalled Anim a couple of times still no good.

I have also disabled auto save in prefs.

The file size is 1.9mb.

Any ideas

Latest

I have installed the latest update. this has improved performance.

However working between layers removes the image but leaves the drawing pointers in the active or selected layer.

I have duplicated the layer and deleted the image and left this layer empty, this seems to work as it doesn't leave the pointers when I change the layers.
