How can I turn off auto bone binding?

Post by Postality »

I can't seem to find the option to turn off automatic bone binding.

I prefer to manually rig my creations because I find I get a MUCH better result that way but can't seem to find where I turn it off in v5

Thanx guys.

In Moho 5, you can't turn it off. However, as soon as you manually bind something, the "flexi-binding" is no longer in effect. So you're totally free to manually bind points to bones, but if you do nothing they will always be automatically flexi-bound.

Let me add that the new bone strength feature makes auto-binding much more usable. Since we don't have updated tutorials yet, I can't prove it, but when all the new tutorials are done, check out the ones regarding bone setup and I think you'll be pleased with the new system. For a complex drawing especially, manual binding is a real pain - if you've got a lot of points, it's not even always possible.

Any idea when the full version 5 is going to be done? it's been quite a while now since the beta's have been out and the old posts said that LM was hoping for an end of july release but there was no guarantee.

I really liked going through the tutorials on version 4 and am looking forward to the tutorials on version 5.

No. To be honest, anything I told you would be a guess. I don't know when July was stated as an estimate, but clearly that was wrong, so no more guessing.

Sounds good to me.

honestly I'm happy with the beta for now, but would really like to get the tutorials. seeing at those alot have things have been added and changed it would be nice to have something to guide me with the new version along the way.

and about the bones, what you're saying is if I want to turn it off all I have to do is bind a point to the bone and that will basically turn it off correct?

Is there a way to re-flexi-bind after you have manually bound and made a pigs ear of it? I've done this a couple of times now and always had to go back to a saved file.

If I have 2 bones, one for the torso and one for the head, it's quite difficult to get them working right without binding the points manually. main reason is because the bone strength overlap eachother so then the head or the torso gets stretched out of proportion. that's why I still think it's much better to manually bind the points yourself that way you can specifically determine what's controlling what...

Yes. Select the points in question, then choose the "Bone->Flexi-Bind Points" menu command.

It is the really obvious stuff that gets me every time.
I should have known you would have had that covered.

Hahaha, Lost Marble don't miss many things, and the things they do miss they normally are on top of things and get the things the did miss quite quick. That's only one of the things that make them such a great company. Although if I didn't know any better. I would say that it's only one person making moho, or several people that use the same forum name.
