Anime Music Video

Post by Fordsnack »

Hi all, I came across Anime Studio last year and I decided to try and make an animated music video for the band I was in at the time... So with 100's of frustrated hours spread over about a year, I came up with this. I'd love to know what you think.

Cheers,

Congrats on having the persistence to stick with this for a year.

I think it's excellent (all the more amazing that this was done with Debut). The time and care you put into this is evident. I like the clever bits, ie., flying body parts, changing faces, masking effect in the shirts.

There are some problems typical of new animator's work, but as it stands, the video gets the job done. It's visually entertaining and the song is engaging as well.

Great job! :D

I agree with Neeters_guy. It works and entertained me enough for me to watch it all the way through. The pace was a little slow maybe but you can see a lot of time was spent on it.

Cheers, it was quite the learning experience for me, I think the animation gets better as the video progresses, as I slowly got to grips with how to use the program.

The masking effect I stumbled upon by accident. I did all the post production stuff in imovie, which is were I syced the audio n stuff. There is a green screen mode, where you can layer two scenes together which had interesting results.

I am planning on trying my hand at a short episode of some description at some point, but I will have to learn how to make characters walk and other complex movements.. With this video I think I managed to get away with it by using jaunty camera angles and flashing lights...

And with Debut, there where only a couple of moments when I began to see the limitations of the software, but of course Im not so experienced with it yet

Thanks for the comment. When you say the pace is slow, do you mean there should be more rapid scene cuts or more action movements n stuff?
