Thanks Artpen. Yes, it was all done in AS. I get very frustrated when people say the drawing tools are poor in AS. They are excellent. It's sso easy to add highlights and shadows using the shape or layer shading.
Nice looks good, what sort of music video are you making? I like the animestudio drawing tools too, although im a bit amateur. I liked how intuitive it was, and its similarities to photoshop, which I had used a handful of times before..
That's fantastic, I really admire your work and have followed your tutorial on character creation with your flea!
I have created my characters in anime studio only too and I'm happy with the results.
The drawing procesd is slow in studio which is it's only downfall I think, but if you stick at it, it works a treat!
I'm busy with my first animatio, and I'm thinking of using a bitmap drawing for a flame effect, what do you think?
Thanks, art
Thanks Fordsnack. I will add a couple of clips of the video to my first post. It's for a band called Bubble Gum Orchestra.
Artpen - Good to hear the tutorial was useful. It's a bit outdated now with the excellent new features of V9. Good luck with your animation. You could use a bitmap drawing for a flame effect but I suppose you could also use switch layers in AS maybe...or particles.
Thanks again, your tutorial worked a treat for me as I have only got AS Pro 6.
I Liked your tutorial because it showed you how to construct a proper cartoon character, not like the others that show how to
Make Potatoe men!! Ha ha
Keep making those fab tutorials with easy step by step instructions, there great!!
Yeah, my flame, I'll try AS with switches, and bitmaps with switches.
How's Bob these days, do you still model and animate with clay these days?
I'm trying all animation at the moment, its taken over my life!!!
Thanks again Artpen.
I'm afraid I don't do Bob any more. It's done CG now by a studio in the US (if they are still producing it?).
Animation does take over your life. I have precious little free time now but I still do animation in some of it!!
This is looking great! I enjoyed watching. Realy liked the opening shot. I agree with you about the drawing tools. They are great. When I first started messing around with studio pro I intended to import a lot of back grounds from adobe until I started working with the vector tools in studio pro. Lot of power in that program. I have a lot to learn and watching great work like yours has helped a lot. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Gene, very much appreciated. I'm definitely not the greatest artist in the world (that's why I decided on stop-motion as a career) but As allows you to move the points around until you get something that looks decent
Neeters_guy, Michael Laine Hildebrandt plays every instrument on the Bubble Gum Orchestra CD's and he's a great songwriter too. I'm hoping the video will be completed soon also
I enjoyed working in stop-motion so much that it wasn't that stressful for the most part. Now I work in videogames, which is VERY stressful. The 2D is my relaxation I suppose
