Have an idea to make a Sea scintillate ?

hi,
i have my landscape , im working on the sea and i want it to "live", so i remembered the lightings dancing far away ..

I think of using The Sparkles paricle layer ..
do you think its the better way
an how shall i configure it to be more realistic ?

if you have any suggestion

This is a gross oversimplification of a reflection pool model that I'm using in another AS animation.

For the sparkles I used a particle system that's nested in the bone layer that's warping the water
