Backfaces When Using Extrude or Lathe

Post by ferguson4848 »

When I use either the extrude or lathe tool to make a 3D object I’ve noticed that the backfacing lines show up through the ‘front’ of the object. Like below.

Now, I know that if you move the camera closer to the objects the lines seem to disappear. However, if I do this I have to zoom out to get everything in a scene in frame and it distorts the objects in the scene. I noticed that if you make a cube through the Animation drop down the backface problem is not there. In the cube 3D setting there is an option to ignore backfaces, but I do not see any such option for lathe or extrude objects.

Any thoughts would really help.

Thanks

I've not had this problem - can you share a file so we can have a look?

Here is the file. I think the key might be to make my objects smaller so i can get the camera closer without having to zoom in?

You're right, reset the camera views and it will be fixed.
