change 3d shading option

Hello all. I've been discovering this program doing a project and I learned a lot with this forum.

I have tons of questions but this particular one is pretty urgent.

I created a simple 3d pie chart, say a circle that's extruded.

I like the smooth shading option but the shadows are to dark for me here and it won't let me change shading color and intensity. What am i missing?

A swift response would be greatly appreciated

For anybody who is interested: You can only change the shading colour when you select hatched shading. No idea why. The manual doesn't give any clues. Shame, because it would be a useful option.
