I am trying out Anime Studio 9 to see if it can do what I want. I had a good bit of experience with Flash a decade or so ago.
I am having two problems:
1)I thought the point of keyframes was that it would "stick" your object. In other words, if I keyframe the scale of a circle at 1:1:1, is it not supposed to stay 1:1:1 no matter what I do downstream in the timeline? I am later in the timeline changing the scale to 2:2:2 and then I go back to my previous keyframe and for some reason it has changed to 2:2:2!!! Is there something I am missing to "stick" my keyframe so it will not change? Or is this a known problem?
2)This song is in stereo but for some reason one side of the stereo goes in and out. Is this a known problem?
Thanks for any help!

Re: 2 problems: Keyframes and Audio
Depends on the type of keyframe. If you set it to anything other than step, then the key will interpolate to the next key. If you have more than one key selected on timeline, any changes will be applied to all the keys. Be sure only the current keys are red before you make the change.laughinglots wrote:1)I thought the point of keyframes was that it would "stick" your object. In the Users Manual, see p. 248, Editing Multiple Keyframes and p. 249, Hold Durations.

Re: 2 problems: Keyframes and Audio
Let me clarify my problem further:
I draw a circle and at frame 1 and create a keyframe for scale and the current scale of the circle is 1:1:1. Then I move to frame 10, increase the size of the circle 2:2:2 which automatically creates a keyframe for scale at frame 10. Is not the circle still supposed to be 1:1:1 when I go back to frame 1?

Yes. That is how it should work. Without seeing exactly what you are doing it's very difficult to explain the results you are getting. Can you upload a file that is doing this so we can see it? Can you do a screen recording?
neeters_guy came up with the only explanation I can think of, you have multiple keys selected and are scaling both to the same value. Make sure NO KEYS ARE SELECTED when changing the scale value.
Re: 2 problems: Keyframes and Audio
I think that is what is happening. The key on frame 1 is selected when you change frame 10.
I just tested this. Keyed 100% scale (1) on frame 1, selected that key then moved to frame 10. Keyed 200% scale (2). Went back to frame 1 and the scale was 200% (2).
This is due to relative changes to key frames with multiple keys selected. If a key is selected it will change the value of that key no matter what frame you are on making the changes.

I understand what you all are saying now. Let me proceed further with this information and see if I still have problems. Thanks!
I don't suppose anyone knows what is happening with the audio going in and out on one side?

Do you have "Spatial positioning" enabled on the audio layer settings>audio tab?laughinglots wrote:I don't suppose anyone knows what is happening with the audio going in and out on one side?

Yep, that's it. Well done!
And thanks so much.
