Rendered video lag with picture files?

Post by WelshJester »

I have a fairly simple scene with some pictures as .PNG format. The camera pans sideways a bit and then zooms in, i have about 8-9 images ranging from 1-3mb or so.

Rendered in default 24fps and 30fps at 1080p and 720p, the problem is that both seem to have this jitter or lag to them, is this because AS doesn't like many picture files or other reasons?. I saw a similar thing when zooming in and i had a vector with shading, that seemed to flicker as well.. though a different issue i guess.

Though at 30fps it does look smoother, still has this jitter or slight ghosting during the camera zoom and pan. That's in wmv and Xvid format.

This is most often just a playback issue. Unless you have a very fast computer, HD video can't be played back without some difficulties.

Check the scene in the final video frame by frame: the increments should be the same. If not, there's a mistake in animation.

Hi slowtiger, thanks for the reply.

Well it seems almost every time i export in WMV or Xvid, the file is coming out huge.. even if i only set 3000kbps bitrate. Plus Xvid is crashing most of the time when exporting.

I downloaded Quicktime and strangely the video does not lag when exported under the Animation option, but only after being played through once where it lags slowly all the way to the end, then when played again does not lag and the file comes out huge.. that doesn't really make any sense.

Uncompressed avi plays fine.

Compressed video.. always lags.. ?? That's in Windows media player, in Quicktime player both seem to lag.

The only success i had was bringing the uncompressed avi into sony vegas and exporting as wmv9, which brings a much smaller file and plays back smoothly most of the time.

Not sure what's going on, i don't think i've had these problems before.
