Re: Gradient tutorial
Hi Gilles, would love to see your approach to the next step - animating shapes that have gradients etc..
Re: Gradient tutorial
I love doing step by step tutorials, they really show how the process works, and you're welcome!Danimal wrote:Very cool to see the character take shape. Thanks for posting this!

Animating gradients is easy really, since they are attached to existing shapes, they just move along, except in the case where You create drawings for the purpose of holding gradients, like around the eyes in this character, then You only need to bind the points to the bones and they will follow along, nothing big really!hayasidist wrote:Hi Gilles, would love to see your approach to the next step - animating shapes that have gradients etc..

Re: Gradient tutorial
and where you use point animation - do you just shift the gradient control handle if you want the gradient to folow the shape?GCharb wrote: Animating gradients is easy really, since they are attached to existing shapes, they just move along, except in the case where You create drawings for the purpose of holding gradients, like around the eyes in this character, then You only need to bind the points to the bones and they will follow along, nothing big really!
Re: Gradient tutorial
Depends on the type of gradients, yes You can animate the gradient handles on the gradient effect, as for the other types, You need to animate the points if You want to animate the gradient, other then that, any of these types of gradients will follow any bones it is attached to.
