problem with "rescale keyframes"

Post by mags »

hallo.

if this question is asked, please give the link. thank you.

ok, i have made two different actions with my character: running and turning. both are saved to two different files.
now i want these actions to be in one file, where the turning comes right after the run.
the run ends at frame 144, but the turn begins at frame 1.
i thought, that maybe i can do like this:

in the "turning" file choose "rescale keyframes"--> "entire document"-->"new start frame: 144"--> "new end frame: 181 (turning lasts 37 frames)--> "ok".
then open the "run" file and choose "insert object"--> "turning.moho".
then i'd make the "running" invisible from frame 144 and "turning" visible from frame 144, but...
it doesnt work correctly, because, in the "turning" file, if i do the "rescale keyframes", some of the movings begin at the frame 144, like i wished, but some begin still in frame 1 and end in frame 181. why?

my character is made of over 20 vector layers that are all in one bone layer. all the bones and points in each layer move during these 37 frames.

There are a bug that does this with rescale keyframe. adding or removing a frame from the end time usually resolves this.
You've got the new end frame 181, this should be 180 since the timeline starts at frame 1. 144-1=143, 143+37=180.
Try end frame 180, I think your problem will be solved then.

thank you,
sounds logical, but does not help.

something with the first frame... some of the first frames are moved to frame 144, but some, that are also moved, still begin at frame 1.

i tried to remove this problem like this:
after rescaling keyframes i moved to frame 143 and chose "add keyframe"--> "step".
it solved the problem with eyes only, cause it's the only group layer and i had forgotten to create frame 1 to those within it.

some layers still start moving at frame one? there are no keyframes before frame 143, and 143 is marked as "step". how is it possible???

thanks.

Script option...

If your two files are identical except for the animation keyframes, you may be able to use the shift keyframes, load animation and save animation scripts to merge the two files together.

I added a description of how to do that here:
