walk cycle again

Post by exile »

Selgin's webinar is two years old, so this is not really new, I couldn't find anything on it although I searched.

I was able to download the walking ruler and the bear, and am really happy that with the instructions in the work flow video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Etv_pEQ ... pfE1iE-bHS I have the bear walking nicely, much better than previous attempts even just with bipeds.

I'm excited about the use of the relative cycle to adjust the movements of separate parts - that breaks up mechanistic symmetry and brings life into the walk.

What I don't understand - the bear only has two layers, as far as I could see. How can the parts work so well, moving separately with no interference? This is an older file, which settings did you use, Selgin, to get this effect?

I hope in my next project the characters will walk noticeable better. Thanks, Selgin, for the fantastic video.
