Disabling Multi-select function in translate points tool

Hi everyone.

Does anyone know how I may disable the "select ALL points by clicking the edge", in the Translate Points Tool?
When I'm working quickly, I'm getting sick and tired of accidently deleting the whole object, instead of just, one point.
I find, selecting all points too easy to do accidently.
I would rather have a lasso function with translate points tool.
I'd also like to be able to change object colour, immediately after its created; not have to change to Select Object Tool, first.

I understand what you mean. I find it very annoying too.

I thought that by unticking the 'Shape-select' option for the tool would be the solution, but apparently it only works in that you can avoid selecting the shape if you click both inside and outside of it.
With it ticked if you click inside the shape you select it.

It would be nice if you could avoid selecting the shape if you click on its edge. Because I find myself doing that quite frequently too.

You could also look out for Fazeks tools script.

Among many other changes made in/for drawing tools, Translate points tool acts just like you described.

Ok. I've downloaded and added the scripts.
The only problem seems to be an error report when using the Add Point tool.
M_Mesh:MakePointsConsistentWithNeighbors - out of range.

Error appears when end points join together automatically, but it does not seem to be causing program instability.
