1, 2, 3... PARTICLE! (just when I want) :D

Post by Rai López »

I'm working now in something like a train or ship chimney/funnel that deforms meantime the smoke go up for it until it go out (just in time), I want to use particles for smoke (for easy, quick and random results), but if I do it the sync between smoke and chimney is not possible... I've animated the chimney first in random clycles and I think that it'd be nice an option to can decide when I want to a particle of smoke go out with a simple click! :D I know this it'd be not possible now :( , but some(soon)day Particle parameters it'll be animatables (I hope) and, for this and other applications (hoses, dripping taps/pipes...), I'd like to see something like this... BYE! :)

Hi Ramon, sounds interesting. I wonder if maybe for now you can use a mask? have the particles emitting constant but use a mask to hide them and show them at the correct time?

THANKS bupaje! I'll try it, but now I'm investigating what can I get playing with some parameters meantime change between Particles on/off in the timeline... I think that can be a way to get the result that I want, althought I'm having problems to show just only one Particle when I want, because if I put the Particle Count to 1, only one particle is showed at a time (until it dead), and if I put Particle Cout at several particles sometime appears 1, sometimes 3, or 2 without possible control about it... I'll try too duplicating (althought I dislike have duplicate layers everywhere) the Particle layer 3 times (i.e.) with the Particle Count to 1, for have three total controlable particles at a time 8) and I'll see what happen, hummm... I CAN'T WAIT! :D ...CIAO!

PS1: Particles are SO fun! :D
PS2: ...I can't wait too that it become in animatable feature! :)
