from dark to light

Hi ~ I'm trying to create a sunrise scene. I made a vector layer that is just completely black, with the opacity turned to about 75 - this layer goes on top of the 'daytime' scene, so that the scene looks darkened. Then as the sun comes up, I gradually turn down the opacity on the 'black' layer until it's at '0'. Every time I turn down the opacity, I move the slider in my timeline up several numbers, change the opacity, then click 'ctrl F' to set the point. Only it doesn't work. After I render it, the scene just starts with the opacity on the 'black' layer at '0', so it begins in daylight. Hopefully someone can help? Thanks ~ Sabina

Did you check "Allow animated layer effects" in the black layer before you created those keys?
