How do I just import a PSD/PNG and scale it...

Post by Mejin »

...without this annoying flickering?!

Hi,

I don't know why it is happening..

I just tried to import a normal picture into a scene.
And despite I tried PSD, PNG... it always come out that the Outline flickers like hell:

Image

See the black outline?

It happens with EVERY picture I tried to import, ending with that I had to rebuild it in vector-Form...

Has anyone a suggestion for me, why it is happening?
Is it because of the scale? But I mean... to scale a simple picture should be the easiest for a program, or?

I would be really happy about help!

Thank you,
Mejin

It is the rendered result...
But as soon as i import it - it get's this fuzzy outlines... and in movement it is pretty worse. Even if there's no movement, the outline flickers and moves some pixels.

OK, we need to get exact here.

1. Is the line in Photoshop done with anti-Aliasing on?
2. What do you mean with "flicker"?
3. With "fuzzy", do you mean blurred?
4. Do you enlarge the images in AS?

Normally there shouldn't be any problems with outlines. I use a lot of bitmaps, with clean lines (anti-aliased), and they look nice in movement in AS. I use them in 1:1 size or smaller, so I always get the best quality.

Hey,

1. Yes, anti-Aliasing is on... in PS it looks smooth and nice.
2. It moves by its own... I have a hold frame - and the outline wobbles around. It is not still as it should be.
3. With fuzzy I mean as in the pictures above - the outline has some pixels not flattened, going to the side... it looks unclean, linty.
4. No, I just scale them down. It's this anti-aliasing(?) problem as soon as I import the picture.

Hm, is maybe becaus I import it into a group?(Which is not scaled up as well...)

If it really moves around the most likely culprit is some forgotten keys in thetimeline. And check if any of your keys is accidentially set to "random".

But I agree, the look is not right. I just don't know what causes this since it never happened to me.

Hm, no, there were no key... it just jumped up and down....

Here's a video, it has not such a good quality - but I hope you can see what I mean - it flickers and the outline is not smooth..
