Not a bad technique, you make it look somewhat easy. The brush style to make the hair look right was good too.

The character comes out kind of "flat," but if that's your style go with it!

do you draw and sketch? I would suggest that you look into learning some human anatomy. When you get a basic understanding of it down, all the character designs should fall into place. The manner in which the torso interacts with limbs, and stuff like that. It may not seem so, but when you actually get it down, things tend to start looking 3d with minimal effort. No really, i'm serious. hahaha. Check out the youtube channel -Drawing with Jazza- It's surprisingly very forthcoming for drawing 3d quality characters, and I think it totally carries over for ASP. It definitely helped me.

Also look into perfecting the art of Depth of Field. In animation, it has that ability to "Dazzle" the viewer with 3d qualities even though you're only using 2 dimensions. Again, Drawing With Jazza is an excellent tutorial for that as well, and with ASP it's extremely easy to pull off. All you need is a basic comprehension, which shouldn't be a problem.
