ALIVE (Music Video)
Hello all,
I haven't posted an animation in a while, But I'm back with a two for one special.
The entire Video was created using Anime Studio Pro 9.5. This animation by far is my longest and in some ways to me was the most complicated. Putting all this together took me several weeks and a few sleepless nights. I'm very proud of it. I hope all of you enjoy it. I did learn a lot while making it though. I made a bunch of mistakes early on and throughout that haunted me for the entire project, but I kept finding ways around them, which I think probably made things harder for me. The most non technical one being, I should have created a storyboard or something so that I knew what to do when and where and what not. So I don't recommend just making it up as you go, like I did. Anyway, I tried to create the theme throughout the video that the song was bringing the dead back to life...
The song is an original song by me(Ron Hamer) called "Alive". What does that have to do with Animation? Well, Nothing I guess, accept that in addition to animation, I produce and create my own music (My main hobby, Thus the quality of the music & ok animation). I hope you all ENJOY.
Constructive criticism is always welcome, Because that's how we learn to get better.
I posted it to my YouTube channel instead of my Animation channel because the project started out as just my newest song with a small animation at the beginning, But it quickly and unexpectedly turned into a Full length music video.
I must say that, combining my two hobbies into one was quit enjoyable.
Here's a link to the video on YouTube.

Nice Job!
You've really come along way. I didn't remember until I saw the Indian animation on the TV. (which made me go Arghh, because I just did the same trick not to long ago in my animation which I'll hopefully have done in the next 3 months). The music was really fun, had a nice uplifting beat. I also use a lot of photo mixes with my animations, so I like the look.
If I had one critique that jumped to mind, it would be that you try playing around more with either shaded color fills, or shading your whole rig just to give it some more depth. The skeletons came off flat, so you might want to see what you could do with that, It looked like you experimented a bit with it on the woman's bust. But otherwise good job, you've really improved.

Re: ALIVE (Music Video)
Thanks so much Little Yamori, Yes I agree with the shaded color fills. Its just something I have not messed with much, and as for using it on the woman's bust That was just an after thought. Didn't even try it till just before I rendered the whole project. I was more concerned with making the animation as good as I could and didn't put much into the shading and what not. ANYWAY, Point well taken and no hard feelings. I DO appreciate the input from any and all. After all, There are a lot of talented animators on here and its not that easy to empress on people. The best way to get better is to take what people say and learn from it, and that I will.Little Yamori wrote:Nice Job!

The music was good and the interaction between cartoons and photographs was really well done.
Of the whole thing, which was completely enjoyable, my favorite part was probably the Indian rain dance on the TV in the background. And time the "skeleton showing through" electricity joke is used, it's comedy.
Great work!

Assuming you didn't know this, But the Indian rain dance was one of my older animations/cartoons. I thought I would slip it in there just for the heck of it. I needed something to be on the TV after the news was done and thought why not use one of my other cartoons.
I didn't think anyone would really notice.
Thanks for watching, I glad you enjoyed it.

I didn't know that, but it really added something to the video. And given the "skeleton" theme of the video, it fit perfectly.hammerjammer wrote:Assuming you didn't know this, But the Indian rain dance was one of my older animations/cartoons

If you are interested in checking out the whole Rain Dance video, The link to my YouTube page for it and all of my animations is at the bottom of all of my post on here. I know that was probably a shameless plug for my stuff, but hey we are on a animation forum. There isn't much there since I'm still pretty new to this and don't always have time to do it.
I will let you in on a secret, The skeleton in the indian animation and this one are one in the same. Why re-create what you don't have to?
Thanks
